I made this birthday card for a friend at work using the "Cards & More with Dazzles" Book of paper (came with dazzles and jewel stones), I think the jewel stones really set's the card off. :). These are "Hot Off The Press" products.

Father's Day Card

Yes with father's day less than a week away, I needed to make a card or two :-), I made this card from Cardmaker's Earth Palette Creative Pack and Instant Card Art (Earth's Palette) from "Hot off the Press"

Mother Daugther Lucheon

I didn't want the month of May to go by without posting something regarding Mother's Day, I am a bit tardy with this post, but was unable to get done it done sooner. This is a layout out of the archives as you will notice from the date on the pages, this event took place at my Pastor's Wife's beautiful back yard, we all had a wonderful time, Katrina Whorton was our special speaker and had some wonderul things to say about having relationship as mom's to our children,(Katrina is a Pastor's wife at the time of this photo she lived in Sacramento, and is a very dear friend), we had a cute skit put on by Betty Morris and her daugheter Anita Peaver, wonderful food, doorprizes, fun and fellowship with all the Mother's and Daughers.

Trip to Table Mountain

This is a page my daughter Kim had done, (she's doing quite well with her scrapbooking), "A Trip To Table Mountain to Look at flowers".

Some Cards

Trying my hand and stamping some cards again, used stamps and some card stock for these two projects, (forgot how much fun!), then I used a little clear glitter for sparkle! :o), cute huh? (I am tired of spending $5.00 on a card at the store, when I have the supplies at home)

These cards are done with scrapbook supplies and printed paper.

WEDDING

I love Weddings! Such a great time to catch up with friends and family that you haven't seen in awhile, (This wedding is of my husband foster brother's daughter).

Papers and some of the emblishements are from paperwihes (some of the emblishements I already had in my stash, I used because I felt they went with the theme of my layout).

APPLE HILL

This layout show's a family fun day we had at Apple Hill, we picniced around a fish pond and us girls went around to all the great shops, and in honor of Jennifer's Birthday of course we bought an apple pie to enjoy.

TEMPLATES

Templates are great tools to use for your paper crafting, they are inexpensive to buy and can be used over and over for your paper craft projects, I have made cards simalar to this two cards for friends. I purchased this template thru Paperwishes at paperwishes.com.

GRAB YOUR PUNCH

Making your own flower emblishements saves money (flowers are my favorite emblishements).

BUDGET FRIENDLY TIPS FOR SAVING MONEY:

1. Use more solids vs. patterned papers

2. Create your own unique paper (using inks, stamps, paints, mists, etc.)

3. Create your own bling.

4. Create your own flourishes.

5. Trace, print or color your own doodles.

6. Use $1 Store flowers.

7. Use cardboard as chipboard.

Trace pre-made chipboard onto cardstock, cereal boxes or plain chipboards, then cut it out with your scissors. It works great if you don't have enough alphas to make a title or specific styles that you only have 1 of and are thinking of re-using again

8. Recycle childrens board books as chipboard books.

9. Make your own gluedots. Use Aleene's Repositionable Glue. Just put a small dab on the leftover backing from stickers or labels (the non-stick part) and let them dry. Then, cover with another non-stick sheet. You can also reuse the roll when you are done. Works great!

10. Ink, paint, color your brads, buttons & bling.

11. Free wallpaper books from paint stores. The designs, especially the borders, are great to use for Layouts.

12. Use old postcards, maps, postage stamps, medallions, keys & old coins.

13. Use seashells, rocks, sand & sandpaper.

14. Buy pattern paper in stacks when they are on sale. You get so much more paper in stacks for the price, especially when on sale!

Tip - Even one better, whenever purchasing paper stacks, try and enlist 1 or 2 other scrappers. That way, not only can you purchase even more stacks/by dividing them up evenly...but that way you also won't end up with so many doubles or triples!

15. Use office supplies, such as staples, bulldog clips, paperclips, rubber bands, etc.

16. Use hatpins or quilter's pins and ribbon.

17. Use q-tips, cottonballs, makeup wedges, etc. as dabbers.


18. Use Emery boards (nail files) for distressing.

19. Use the edge of your scissors for distressing.

20. Ink the edges of your paper.

21. Use feathers, plastic leaves, vines & branches.

22. Reuse old buttons, buckles, zippers, labels & patches from children's clothing.

23. Make your own patterned paper with plain cardstock and stamps.

24. Make your own flowers. (flowers are my favorite embellishment)

25. Stamp, embellish & or cut out your own shapes & letters!

26. Use old puzzle pieces.

27. Use playing cards & game board pieces on your projects & layouts.

28. Buy old children's books at a secondhand store and the dollar store.

29. Make your alpha letters go further by combining the styles vs. sticking to 1 font!

30. When layering paper, cut out the center and use it for the mats, flowers, die cuts, etc.

If you only need a short piece of paper, cut it out of the middle of the 12x12 sheet and then you can still use what's left as a full page border for another lo. On the other side of that, if you just need a page border, cut out the middle and save it for another project.

31. Punch small flowers out of scraps that are too small to save, but still large enough for the punch and keep them for future projects.

32. Use sheet music, CD inserts, old book pages.

33. Trade with friends. (Invite friends over and have a swap, one friends trash is another’s treasure).

34. Use what you have (cards, giftcards, ticket stubs, business cards, brochures, restaurant menus, etc)...layouts don’t have to be costly or fancy.

35. Dye your own flowers, (you can make white dollar store flowers any color you need with an ink pad).

36. Use bulk rhinestones sold in a bag, instead of expensive bling-- you just have to add adhesive.

37. Use small sewing pins, zippers, snaps, metal clothespins, measuring tape, etc.

38. Recycle old greeting cards.

39. Make your own photo corners.

40. Make your own felt flowers using templates and felt. (can pick up felt cheaply at Wal-Mart).

Caribbean Cruise April 2005

I wanted to post the scrapbook pages that I had created for Our Caribbean Cruise that my husband Jack and I went on a few years ago, we enjoyed it so much! the first set of pages was taken of "Formal Night" on the Ship, it was so much fun dressing up for dinner, the second and fifth set of pictures was taken in Cozumel, that was one of my favorite ports, it was soooo beautiful there and the shopping was Great! The third set of pages was of Progresso (sorry I had gotten the pictures out of order for this post), we had just done some shopping in the shops that were on the pier close to where we ported, the pier was five miles long, so we didn't go into town, we just stayed on ship a relaxed ate breakfast, had lunch and took in some sun most of the day, then onto Belize, couldn't port in Belize, water was to shallow for large ships, so small boats taxied passengers that wanted to go into Belize, this was the day I stayed on Ship and took advantage of the Spa, I had gotten a massage and facial, while Jack took a boat ride over to Belize to go exploring. All and all we had a wonderful time, the food and service and entertainment was so wonderful on the ship. Can't wait to go back!

Easter Sunday at Church 2003

We are dressed in our Sunday best for Easter Sunday, Enjoyed a "candy rain" at Sunday School, then came home and had a Easter Egg Hunt and a Big Family Meal.

This cute page is of my two girls when they were little, I took them to a photo place down town Oroville, they really got a kick out of holding a real "Easter Bunny" and baby chick.

Spring

My Valentine for 31 years (32 in July)

I didn't want the month of February to go by without posting some scrapbook photos of my loved ones, I have a great husband and 2 wonderful girls, 1 granddaugher that's the joy of our live, and 6 more grandkids that we call our own, (both our girls have boyfriends with kids and we love everyone of them) :)

These layouts are of my girls when they were babies, Kimberly is in the top photo, and Jennifer (my oldest daughter) in the bottom photo, aren't they just precious? :)
(please excuse the glare on the photos).

I can't forget this "Valentine", I have not scrapbooked Allyce's photo yet, but did not want to leave her out of my Valentine photos.

My Valentines

My Mom and her husband on their wedding day, they were married for over 20 years, for this 8 1/2" by 11" inch layout, I used dark green card stock as background and used it as a mat for an 8 1/2" by 11" inch printed paper that I had cut down about 1/4 inch smaller, to mat my pictures I used more dark green card stock, I finished this simple layout with "Jolee's boutique" wedding dimensional stickers and white sheer ribbon to support the wedding theme.
