DECORATED PICTURE FRAME

Design by Miley Johnson

To make a personalized home decor accent, Miley adhered a couple of picture frames to a mat board covered in patterned paper. She treated the wall hanging like a large scrapbook page, embellishing with large flowers, brads, and bits of fabric and paper. Wood letters painted to match her color scheme finish the design.

Get the list of sources used in this layout.
SOURCES Patterned paper: Autumn Leaves. Fabric: Moda. Sticker: 7Gypsies. Rub-ons: Autumn Leaves (scrolls), Chatterbox (letters). Stamps, paint, tags, brads: Making Memories. Wood letters, frames, flowers: Michaels. Ribbon: May Arts.

CANDLES

Design by Rhonda Bonifay

Rhonda adhered photos and text to candles for a personalized home accent. She printed her designs by taping tissue paper to cardstock. Then she removed the printed tissue paper, secured it to the candle with straight pins, and warmed the design with a heat tool until the image sank into the wax, (be careful not to leave the heat tool on the candle too long, just long enough for the wax to melt slightly for the tissue paper to adhere to the candle).

Winter Fun Layout

I saw this layout in a scrapbook magazine and thought I would share it with you.

Design by Paula Murakami

The patterned paper Paula chose for this snowboarding scrapbook page immediately reminded her of snow and helped her pick a color scheme for the page. Converting photos to black-and-white allowed her to use any colors she wanted so she chose frosty hues that play up the winter theme.

Editor's Tip: Use seasonal shapes to further drive home your theme. Paula used snowflakes in several spots on her page, including the one that subs for the letter "o" in her title.
